The costs of all contracted meals, drinks and snacks are included in our hourly rates, you will find no hidden extras here at Grafton Childcare.
We serve healthy breakfasts between 7 am and 8.30 am each morning, which includes Baby Cereals, Cheerios, Rice Crispies, Toast, Weetabix and Cornflakes to name just a few choices the children have here. Along with plenty of fresh cows and oat milks and water throughout the day.
Infant formula is provided for babies under a year as required at no extra charge. We can even accommodate babies who are breast-fed as we have space in our freezer to store mummies milk which we can defrost for your baby as needed. Denise is very pro breast feeding having breast-fed all four of her sons and is keen to encourage as many mothers as possible to continue to breast feed for as long as possible, even after their return to work.
All our lunches and evening meals are cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients and where possible in season vegetables by our cook Phil, Denise’s husband. Hot lunch is served at 12 noon and evening meal is served each day at 5 pm, for those children who stay until 6 pm or later.
Our Little Kitchen is able to accommodate children with food allergies and intolerances simply because we cook all our own food and know what every meal contains, every day of the year. We pride ourselves on not using any packet mixes or jars, but cooking real old fashioned home cooked meals from scratch, yes even the sauces! Most of our meat is purchased from the wonderful Stuart at Baker's the family butchers inside Newton Abbot Market. They really are well worth a visit, if you would like good quality local meat.
Phil even prepares his very own butternut squash and carrot mash for our weaning babies, who will eventually move onto the same meals as the toddlers and children when ready.
We provide a big selection of fresh fruits and vegetables for morning and afternoon snacks at 10 am and 3 pm each day. We also regularly also offer fresh toasted teacakes, muffins, toasted fruit loaf and hot cross buns as well, cheeses and savory biscuits.
Phil & Denise both updated their Food Hygiene Certificates in 2012, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Phil recently totally revamped our little kitchen, which now has a very modern easy to keep clean black and white colour scheme, with tiles walls and floor.
In June 2012, July 2013, January 2015, August 2016, March 2018, December 2019 and January 2022 we were very proud to receive our Food Hygiene Rating Scheme Certificate where we gained the maximum grading of a 5 overall via the Food Standards Agency and Local Authority Scheme.
We regularly post photos up on our Facebook page of what we enjoy for lunch, check them out, if you would like to see real photos of what we eat on a daily basis!
